GREY WATER RECYCLING
What is grey water? Grey water, also known as sullage, is non-industrial wastewater generated from domestic usage - bath and kitchen water It comprises 50-80% of residential wastewater. It does not comprise water sewage or heavily polluted (detergent) water It gets its name from its cloudy appearance and from its status as being neither fresh nor heavily polluted (black water) How it works Grey water will be recycled and can be used for all household purposes except as drinking water. Sewage water will not be recycled 1 Pre-filtration Larger impurities such as hair, fabric from clothes, etc are collected and flushed into the main wastewater drain 2 Treatment Dirt particles are then decomposed 3 Sediment disposal Sediments produced during the recycling process are regularly sucked out from the chamber and diverted into the wastewater drain 4 UV Sterilisation Before entering the storage unit, the recycled water flows through a UV-light lamp that disinfects it 5 The disinfected water can then be reused
